We bring together students, staff and the wider community to share a mutual love of music.
UEA Music Centre is a social place, fostering ambitious music of a high standard. However, you are equally welcome if you want to make music just for fun.
Four ensembles are open to all: UEA Choir, Chamber Choir and Symphony Orchestra are auditioned during the first week of the autumn semester, whereas the Community Choir is audition-free. Students can also join the eight student-led groups run by UEA Music Society. The Music Centre also has links with Showchoir, the Music Production & HCR Records, the Drama and Musical Theatre Society and the City of Norwich Brass Band.
Our 40 concerts per year enrich University life. Find information about all of the Music Centre’s events and buy tickets on our What's On pages. You can also watch previous performances on our individual ensembles pages.
Our eight Practice Rooms are available from 8am to 10pm seven days a week, and we have a multi-purpose 80-capacity Concert Room.
Music Scholarships for committed musicians who make UEA their first choice on application, and Music Centre Awards for current students, can both support your music making. Music Scholarships are applied for before entry, while Music Centre Awards are applied for after entry. Applications for 2025 entry Music Scholarships will close on Wednesday 7 May 2025. Applications for 2024 Music Centre Awards will close on Thursday 3 October 2024.
The Music Centre team believes that music is a wonderful thing to be involved in. We encourage you to take part individually as well as socially, recreationally as well as ambitiously.
