Universidad ORT Uruguay was established as a non-profit organisation in 1942 and was officially certified as a private university in September 1996, becoming the first private educational institution in the country to achieve that status. The university has an international area dedicated to advise, support and guide foreign students who choose to study in Uruguay, make the most of the opportunities offered by the institution and to experience life in this small and amazing country.
Montevideo is a ferry ride from the Argentinian capital and is often considered the littler sister to bustling Buenos Aires. Montevideo has a very rich cultural history, and has been known as home to an impressive number of renowned writers, artists and musicians. It is considered to have a tranquil, laid back atmosphere and is thought to be one of the most liberal cities in South America and one of the safest.
