With Sustainable Food Principles prioritising the on-campus sale of Tasmanian-grown, ethical, fresh and in-season food, the protection of penguin nesting habitats on campus and species hotels for local wildlife and free public transport shuttles between campuses, Tasmania hosts a number of sustainable initiatives. Students can also register for the Green Impact Program in which they can work within a like-minded sustainable community to achieve green goals while at university. The University of Tasmania is a member of ACTS (Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability).
