UEA offers a wide variety of exciting modules across three faculties - Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences.
Modules
You must provide at least 9 module options per semester of study. This is more than you will study in a semester, but we require extra choices in case modules are full or unavailable.
All visiting students are required to be enrolled in a full courseload (120 UCU per year or 60 UCU per semester). This is usually equivalent to three modules per semester as most modules are 20 UCU.
Undergraduate modules come in three levels: Level 4 (first year), Level 5, and Level 6 (final year). Please ensure you are choosing modules at an appropriate level.
Level 6 modules in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities are mostly 30 UCU. This means that students who wish to study level 6 modules in these schools will be enrolled on two modules only per semester.
All students must select the majority of their module options in a single subject area. This is the subject area your home university nominated you for.
Modules at UEA may be comprised of one or more of a number of different elements: Lecture; Seminar/Tutorial; Workshop; Orals; Lab work; Studio Time; Field Work.
Depending upon module enrolments, actual classroom contact time may be between 2 - 8 hours per module per week.
For modules where there is less contact time at UEA, the student is expected to do personal study as outlined by the module handbook given to each student at their first contact point for the module.
European Credit Transfer and Accumulations System (ECTS): 60 UCU at UEA is equivalent to 30 ECTS
Please note that modules listed are subject to change and may no longer run for Academic Year 2024-25.
Transcripts
We will send you your academic transcript two to three months after the end of assessment. Therefore please take this into consideration if you are graduating soon or applying for a postgraduate programme.
Transcripts are issued electronically. If you require a hard-copy transcript then please request this directly with the Study Abroad Office and reconfirm the delivery address in full. A copy of your transcript will also be sent to our university partners.
