If you don’t pass one or more of your modules you may have to retake your assessment(s).
You may need to do this to complete your degree or to progress onto the next year of your course.
There might be a delay between your initial assessment and your reassessment. You could be asked to return home during this time and your visa may be curtailed (shortened). Your Learning and Teaching Service (LTS) Programme team and Student Visa Compliance will let you know the dates of your reassessment and what will happen with your visa.
Your LTS Programme team will also advise whether you need to return to UEA to complete your reassessments or whether you can complete these from your home country. If you need to return to UEA to complete your reassessments, you may need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa to be able to return to UEA. You will need a letter from your LTS Programme team, which gives the dates of your reassessments/exams. You can email Student Life International for guidance on how to apply for a Standard Visitor visa.
Please be aware that if you enter the UK under Standard Visitor permission you will have different visa conditions to your Student visa. For example, you won't be able to work or to apply for a new Student visa from within the UK.
Once you have completed your re-assessments/exams at UEA, you will usually need to return to your home country to wait for your results.
LTS have created a page of Exam Board FAQs, that may answer any questions you might have about your reassessments. If you still have questions about your reassessments after reading this, please contact your LTS Programme team. If you have any questions about your visa, please contact the Student Life International team.
