The visa and immigration system in the UK is organised into different visa routes. The visa route you will need to enter the UK depends on how long you will be studying abroad at UEA. If you are coming to UEA for a single semester only, you will likely only need Standard Visitor permission. If you study abroad at UEA for a whole academic year, or more, then you will need to apply to the Student route instead. A summary of the two routes is shown here.
