A past UEA Professor of Chemistry had a favorite saying: "one man never did anything". Many people over the past 30 years or so have contributed to the success of CPC. The notes here are mainly from existing online material and have a personal slant but all contributions are welcome ( especially if you are prepared to spend time scanning it in ! ).

The original building before the extension. Note the characteristic early UEA architecture spiral staircase and the famous tree in autumn colours that survived modern technology and sent the subsequent extension off at an angle.

The aerial view of UEA in the late 1960's shows the location of the Computing Centre at the apex of the triangle formed by the iconic terraced student residences (Ziggurats) and close to the centre of the campus.

This next picture is of the old main entrance to CPC from the UEA walkway. As a new user you did quite well to even find the place - more like a war time bunker entrance really. In the architects mind the CPC building was supposed to be a little ship in a harbour - so welcome aboard.
