Apprenticeships offer you the opportunity to earn while you learn.
To develop knowledge, skills and behaviours at a world leading university, as well as in the workplace. View our apprenticeship provision to see how we can support you in developing your career.
If you are employed:
Find your apprenticeship course at UEA and then ask your employer if they can support you. Large employers will often have education or career development specialists to assist with this, but the first step will usually be to have a discussion with your line manager to explore options.
Once you’ve looked into the opportunities that are available to you, your employer can contact us to discuss next steps.
If you are not employed:
Consider who the employers are in your region that offer work related to the course at UEA that you are interested in. Reach out to those employers or check their vacancies online to see if they are recruiting.

Eligibility
To study as an apprentice at UEA you must be in paid employment in England, and you must not be in receipt of any other direct DfE funding; this includes any other apprenticeship or DfE funded programme, including those funded by the Office for Students or a student loan.
Check the entry requirements for the apprenticeship course that you would like to study.
Note that if you are under 19 on the start date of the course, the Department for Education stipulates which English and maths qualifications must be held to complete an apprenticeship. For entry to courses at UEA, these must be held in advance of commencing studies: English and maths for apprenticeships.
If you are 19 or above on the start date of the course, the typical entry requirements specified on the relevant course page apply. We welcome and value a wide range of qualifications and recognise some applicants might take a mixture of different qualifications. If you hold or are working towards any alternative qualifications at a similar level to those specified, including any qualifications taken outside of the UK, we will work with your employer/prospective employer to establish eligibility for entry to the course.
If you are not a UK citizen, or you are not ordinarily resident in the UK, check whether you will be eligible to study an apprenticeship in England: UK Council for International Student Affairs – Apprenticeships Guidance
The Apprenticeship Funding Rules detail all eligibility criteria that apply to apprenticeship study, but if you’re unsure or have any questions, please contact us.
