All the dates and details of our semesters for the academic year are listed below.
Postgraduate Research Students
Are expected to be in attendance throughout the year, in person except where learning at a distance has been specifically approved by a Research Student concession.
Apart from up to eight weeks holiday (including public holidays and closure days at UEA or the Institute at which the student is based) each academic year (pro-rata for part years) as approved by their supervisor.
For the avoidance of doubt, the academic year is assumed to run from 1 October to 30 September. Annual leave cannot be carried forward into the next leave year nor does it extend the period of study or registration.
Trainees registered on accredited professional doctorate programmes do not follow the standard annual leave arrangements and will find their leave entitlement detailed within the programme handbooks
Postgraduate Taught Students
Are expected to be in attendance during the standard semester dates and during the dissertation element until the end of their course. They may also be required to undertake University assessments outside semester during the Christmas and Spring vacations
