Our Drama Studio is a flexible white-box theatre right in the heart of campus, seating up to 250 and equipped to industry standard.
As well as being home to our Drama degree programmes, the Studio hosts student-run productions and receives professional touring theatre, comedy and musical performances, as well as many of our live literature events.
As a Drama student, you’ll get hands-on experience with every aspect of staging work within our Studio, from acting, directing and set-design, down to sewing costumes and managing budget.
And aside from your work in your degree course, you might find yourself using the Studio’s facilities to support the latest Minotaur production, fine-tuning your Edinburgh Fringe show or just as a space to experiment with your creative process.
Accessibility
Both the Studio Auditorium and the Rehearsal Room venues are ground access, and seating arrangements for wheelchairs or other mobility requirements can be easily made – please contact the Studio ahead of your visit.
If you require support of a companion to access our venue, please let us know at the same address when booking a ticket and a complimentary ticket will be arranged.
An analogue induction loop is fitted within the Studio Auditorium (but not the Rehearsal Room). If you have a digital hearing aid, please check with your audiologist that your aid is loop-enabled for use at the theatre.
Registered assistance dogs are welcome and can be taken into the Studio Auditorium or the Rehearsal Room. Please contact the Studio when booking your ticket. For the performance, a Steward will direct you to an appropriate seat and inform you of anything in the show that could affect you dog’s comfort. We regret we cannot offer that guide dogs be left in the care of front-of-house staff. Please be aware, this does not extend to emotional support animals, which cannot enter the auditoria.
