A community built on research, flexible teaching, and strong links with industry.
We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, designed to give students a broad and deep understanding of the discipline. After mastering the foundations of engineering in the integrated first year, students can take a multidisciplinary approach, or choose to specialise in mechanical, electronic and electrical, or energy engineering.
We're guided by an industry advisory board which keeps us up to date on what industry needs, and programmes like our Select Partnership Scheme help our students find work opportunities throughout their studies.
We are based at the heart of a booming energy sector, with a wide range of mechanical, manufacturing, electronic and control systems companies on our doorstep, working in supply chains from automotive and aviation to food-tech and agritech. We're also home to multidisciplinary research in fields such as sustainability, energy materials, climate change, biofuels, business, electronics, and marine energy. Students will frequently have the chance to visit our external partners and discover more about their future career opportunities.
