At Norwich Business School, our events and networking opportunities are designed to foster collaboration between academia and the business community. By bringing together industry leaders, professionals, and academic experts, we aim to create partnerships that drive innovation, share knowledge, and support business growth.
Business Breakfasts
Join us for our quarterly business breakfasts, where you'll have the chance to explore collaboration opportunities, gain valuable insights into some of our notable research initiatives, and connect with professionals from the local business community.
Previous discussions have covered topics such as workplace wellbeing, the growth of Norwich’s financial services sector, AI, business sustainability, and leveraging social media for marketing.
If you are interested in collaborating on one of our Business Breakfasts or would like to be added to the mailing list for updates and our next events, please contact to Prof. Tiago Botelho (t.dos-santos-botelho@uea.ac.uk), Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, or Alice Warner (alice.warner@uea.ac.uk) , Marketing and Business Relationship Executive for Norwich Business School.
Food for Thought
The “Food for Thought” seminar programme is designed to promote the research and scholarship culture in NBS. The weekly seminars offer the NBS community an opportunity to engage with colleagues from other schools at UEA, with World-leading academics from other institutions and their research, as well as policymakers and experts from industry. With its broad focus, the series reflects the growing importance of academia as a source of societal and economic impact, and we look to develop new collaborations as a result of our seminar engagements (i.e., academic papers, consultancy, KTPs, and teaching materials). Topics this semester include software design with generative AI, the politics of climate change, green workplace strategies, and policy analysis using a gender lens.
For further information on our Food for Thought series, please contact Dr Tomás Harrington (tomas.harrington@uea.ac.uk), Seminar Series Coordinator.
Alumni Events
Norwich Business School hosts a variety of alumni events designed to keep our graduates connected, engaged, and celebrating their achievements. These events offer valuable opportunities for professional development, networking with fellow alumni and industry leaders, and staying informed about the latest business trends and school initiatives.
Our alumni events have brought together MBA cohorts for celebration dinners and award ceremonies, while Help to Grow: Management students and alumni have also enjoyed unique experiences such as trips on the Norfolk Broads and visits to Norwich City Football Club. These occasions foster a strong sense of community within our alumni and offer memorable opportunities for connection and celebration.
Honours Evening
Each year, Norwich Business School hosts an Honours Evening to celebrate the exceptional contributions of our community, faculty, and staff to our students' success. This special event brings together our vibrant alumni, valued business network, and distinguished staff and students for an evening of networking, an insightful presentation and panel discussion, followed by a celebratory awards ceremony.
Other events
Throughout the year, Norwich Business School puts on a wide range of events designed to engage students, alumni, and the business community. These include guest lectures from industry leaders, workshops on professional development, networking opportunities, and sector-specific conferences. Each event aims to inspire collaboration, share knowledge, and enhance both personal and professional growth.
