UEA students are able to access support if they are in any way affected by the situation in Israel and Gaza.
We recognise that this may be a worrying time and UEA Student Services is ready to offer any advice or guidance needed.
Students can speak to an adviser in Student Services by requesting an appointment via the online referral form available on MyUEA.
Students can also self-refer for counselling via the Student Services Talking Therapies team.
All students also have 24/7 access to Health Assured, which offers support on a range of personal and professional issues that might be affecting studies, home or work life, health and general wellbeing. Students can find details on MyUEA (UEA login required). A dedicated helpline providing mental health support to students affected by the ongoing events in the Middle East has been set up by Health Assured and is available 24 hours a day: 0800 783 8390.
UEA is an international community, and we strive to maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming culture on campus. Anyone experiencing or witnessing any inappropriate behaviour or harassment can report this to the University via Report and Support either anonymously or by leaving your contact details. If you leave your details, an adviser will be in touch as soon as possible.
Students who have been directly impacted by the situation in Israel and Gaza can also get in contact UEA’s University of Sanctuary programme, which offers a variety of support including drop-ins and information on sanctuary projects. More information on available support and how to get in contact can be found on the University of Sanctuary website.
Please feel confident to reach out if you need support.
