It is with great sadness that we can confirm that a Norwich Medical School student died at Sportspark on Wednesday evening.
The thoughts of all in the UEA community are with the student’s family and friends, and we are continuing to provide support to all those affected.
Sportspark members have been contacted directly regarding reimbursement for the period that the fitness centre and wider building have been unavailable.
We are continuing to support the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) with their enquiries, and the University has decided to keep the related item of equipment out of public use until further notice, while the HSE investigation remains ongoing.
