UEA’s newest addition and Britain's greenest commercial building, The Enterprise Centre, will be officially opened on 8 October, with special guest Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea in attendance.
Lord Bilimoria is the British entrepreneur and life peer best known as one of the two founders and chairman of Cobra Beer.
Purpose-built to deliver UEA's enterprise activities alongside teaching, the Enterprise Centre is now home to a number of exciting and varied start-up companies, some of which will be exhibiting at the event.
Located at the gateway to the campus, and managed by the Adapt Low Carbon Group, this ground-breaking building is the region’s hub for entrepreneurs, innovators and businesses that are committed to building a low carbon future. With virtual tenancy and hot desk hire an option alongside traditional tenancy and space booking, there are options for everyone. The Enterprise Centre was funded in part by the European Union.
At the opening, tenant businesses including Chadwicks, Whole House Energy and Thrive will be on hand to discuss their companies and the opportunities offered by the Enterprise Centre.
Student entrepreneurs from UEA will also be exhibiting, including The Lady Knight – an alumna who, with help from UEA Student Enterprise, set up a successful business bringing history to life through costumed interpretation at historic homes, castles, schools and museums.
The official opening will include the dedication of the 300-seater lecture theatre to Sir Brandon Gough, the University’s late former Chancellor.
