UEA is top 15 UK university

he University of East Anglia (UEA) is once again named among the country’s best-performing universities - reaching 15th position in The Times and Sunday Times Good Universities Guide.
“We’re delighted to have achieved this position,” said UEA Vice-Chancellor Prof David Richardson. “It’s the fourth consecutive year that UEA has featured in the top 20 of this league table.”
The news follows last week’s announcement that UEA has also retained its place in the world top 200 of the prestigious Times Higher Education World Universities Rankings.
“Our ranking of 165th globally underlines our status as a world-class academic institution for both teaching and research,” said Prof Richardson. “Over the past seven years, UEA has consistently been placed in the top 200 at a time when international competition in higher education is growing.”
Within this overall ranking, UEA achieved top 100 placings for research citations (63rd) and international outlook (96th).
“As a university with a well-deserved reputation for research excellence, our leading position for citations – the number of times our published research is cited by scholars globally – is also an important confirmation of our global influence and the trust other academics place in our research,” said Prof Richardson.
Both rankings closely follow UEA’s joint third position among English mainstream universities for overall student satisfaction in this year’s National Student Survey with a score of 91% - ahead of Oxford and Cambridge and equal to Exeter University - the highest-scoring university from the Russell Group. UEA also enjoys a top 15 position in the 2017 Complete University Guide and top 100 placing for research excellence in the 2016 Leiden Ranking.
“I’d like to thank all UEA staff for their continued hard work and dedication in maintaining our status as one of the world’s top universities,” said Prof Richardson.
