Is your research innovative, impactful, and collaborative?
The Innovation and Impact Awards are back for 2025 and looking to recognise and reward UEA’s most game changing staff, students and graduates, and their collaborative work with partners outside the University.
The awards celebrate those exceptional projects that are addressing local and global challenges and making a tangible positive impact on society, public health and well-being, the environment, culture, policy and more. This includes spin out companies, and student and graduate startups.
New for 2025, is the Knowledge Exchange Project of the Year, recognising an outstanding knowledge exchange project with an external partner that can clearly demonstrate a commercial, social, health or cultural impact beyond academia. This could be in the form of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, consultancy work or similar.
Details of all the award categories and the application form can be found on the awards website. UEA staff, students and recent graduates are invited to enter themselves or nominate their colleagues. (Application form can be found here)
Finalists and winners will be selected by a judging panel, chaired by Prof Julian Blow, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, and including senior UEA colleagues and guest judges from external organisations. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 22 May 2025 hosted by Prof Julian Blow and UEA Chancellor, Dame Jenny Abramsky GBE.
Excitingly, the awards ceremony will be hosted at Norwich Castle, celebrating UEA’s longstanding partnership with the Castle and Norfolk Museum Service. All shortlisted finalists and their guests will be invited to celebrate their achievements and network with colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders, including potential project partners and funders. All finalists will also receive certificates and a professional video of their work.
Visit the Innovation and Impact Awards website for more information and to enter or nominate a colleague who you think deserves recognition.
Entries close on Friday 10 January 2025 – good luck!
