1. Pursue Your Passion
University is all about trying new things and meeting new people. With 200 active clubs and societies, you can share your interests, develop new skills and make new friends. Whether you’re into tennis, being a TV presenter or drinking tea (yes, there’s a club for that!) you’re sure to find a club that suits you.
2. A unique experience
At UEA, we want you to create your own unique university experience. With clubs and societies, you get the chance to find out what you like and what makes you tick. You’ll also be connected with like-minded students who share your interest and passion. And if you can’t find a club to suit you, you’re welcome to set up your own! SU can put you in touch with experienced students who can steer you in the right direction.
3. Develop your skills
Clubs and societies are all about having fun but they can also help you develop the sought-after skills employers look for after graduation. Whether you're looking to push your limits with new activities or finessing your organisational skills, participating and running clubs gives you that extra boost to do amazing things.
4. Win together
Working out at the gym isn’t for everyone which is why you’ll find over 60 student-run sports and activity clubs right here on campus at UEA. From rugby to yoga and with great on-site facilities, there’s sure to be a sport that you’ll love. And if you’re feeling competitive, you can always put yourself forward for UEA’s annual derby day when we go into battle with local universities!
5. Give Back & Volunteering
Volunteering is not just a way to get involved but a chance to give back and learn about who you are. There are many chances to help others either on campus or in and around Norwich. Volunteering is a rewarding, gives you perspective and helps you develop the organisational and people skills that future employers really value. Check out the link to see how UEA students volunteer.
Don’t know where to start? We challenged Jonathan to try as many clubs as he could in 7 hours. Check out the video to see how he did.
