Xin chào! My name is Anh and I am from Vietnam. Currently, I am a third-year student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), pursuing a degree in Media Studies.
My academic journey is a passionate exploration of mediated feminist reactions in the Global South, delving into the fascinating interplay of media, identity, and culture. Beyond the academic realm, I find joy in crafting. Crocheting and sculpting earrings from clay are among my favourite pastimes, letting my creativity flow freely.
UEA became my academic home for a multitude of reasons. The university's research-focused environment in the serene countryside greatly appealed to me. Financially, UEA was a wise choice, thanks to the scholarship I was fortunate to receive, making studying abroad feasible and less burdensome for both me and my family. Within the UEA community, I found a space for my creative side through the Arts Society. It allowed me to indulge in my crafty pursuits, setting aside a few hours each week to unwind and recharge.
One of the most remarkable aspects of my UEA experience is the structured curriculum, which has equipped me for higher education to the fullest. For instance, in my second year, I had the opportunity to work on a Dissertation Proposal, setting a clear path for my third-year Dissertation.
Yet, it is more than just academics that drew me to UEA. Norwich, the charming city that houses the university, resonates with my spirit. The city's vibrant energy aligns perfectly with mine, creating a harmonious and inspiring environment.
As for Norwich, its serene ambience has stolen my heart. Surrounded by nature and enchanting parks like Eaton Park and Earlham Park, I find peace and tranquillity here, adding a perfect balance to my student life. Although I will be leaving Norwich for my higher education after my graduation next year, the sight of Eaton Park during autumn, with leaves turning yellow everywhere, will forever be etched in my mind.
Chào mọi người! Mình là Thục Anh - đại diện học sinh Việt Nam tại UEA năm nay! Mình đang là sinh viên năm 2 ngành Media Studies và mình cũng là Academic Representative của ngành này.
Mặc dù UEA là trường đại học chuyên về nghiên cứu, mình không hề thấy kiến thức mang nặng tính lý thuyết mà thường có sự cân bằng giữa lý thuyết và thực hành. Môn mình yêu thích nhất là Media Representation và Business of Film and TV Drama, phần vì mình được dạy bởi những giáo viên tâm huyết và đầy kinh nghiệm - Prof. George McKay và Assoc. Prof. Peter Bloore. Gần 2 năm qua, mình hiếm khi thấy bị “đuối" hay không theo kịp các bạn vì các thầy cô luôn hỗ trợ hết mình. Nếu bạn chưa rõ những gì thầy cô giảng, bạn có thể gửi mail hoặc hỏi trực tiếp thầy cô. Bản thân mình thì thích hỏi thầy cô ngay sau giờ học luôn để tiết kiệm thời gian.
Mình sống ở Norwich cũng gần 2 năm rồi vì mình học ở INTO UEA hồi 2020 trước khi vào UEA. Với mình, một trong những nơi tuyệt vời nhất ở Norwich là chợ địa phương nổi bật với những mái che nhiều màu rất đặc trưng. Taste of Shanghai và Hi Thai Bubble Tea là 2 sạp ở chợ mà mình thường ghé nhất vì đồ ăn và trà ở đây vừa rẻ, vừa ngon, nguyên liệu cũng tươi nữa! Norwich là thành phố yên tĩnh ngập tràn màu xanh với nhiều công viên xinh xắn như Eaton Park và Waterloo Park. Mình thích lượn lờ xung quanh bằng xe đạp vào mùa xuân rồi ngắm và chụp ảnh những cánh đồng hoa cải vàng ươm và những bức tường phủ hoa tử đằng. Nếu bạn cũng là người mê hoa như mình thì nhớ ghé thăm cánh đồng hoa tulip ở King’s Lynn (không xa Norwich lắm đâu) vì đây là cánh đồng hoa tulip lớn nhất ở UK nè.

Holders of the Bang Tot Nghiep Pho Thong Trung Hoc (Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate) will be considered for entry onto the INTO UEA International Foundation or International Year One, ideally with an average of 7.0 or higher.

Holders of a Bang Tot Nghiep Dai Hoc (Degree) will be considered for direct entry to a Masters Degree, ideally with an average of 7.0 or higher.
Holders of a Bang Thac si (Taught Masters) will be considered for entry to PhD research programmes.

All applicants to the University of East Anglia must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of English language before they can be admitted onto any course or programme.
