South Asia Student Ambassador
Hello and Namaste, I am Ranu, a fourth year Mres Intercalating student studying Medicine in UEA. I am originally from Nepal and I chose UEA because it is one of the top universities in UK for student satisfaction. Also, the course provided by UEA is everything I was looking for, the course here not only enables me to learn about medicine but also provide clinical skills from start of the course.
My academic life at UEA is very thorough as we are taught in problem based learning groups which is very helpful. The group is very friendly and represents students coming from diverse backgrounds. PBL not only encourages you to work with different people as a team but also invites you to do independent learning. The modules are laid out in a very organised manner. Also, the support system in UEA is very encouraging, as it comprises of personal advisors, Dean of Student Office, School Hub, there’s always someone you can go to if you ever need any help.
Apart from academics, life at UEA is really exciting. As I am fourth year, I live outside the campus but the campus is nearby if I wanted to use any resources. UEA itself has many facilities such as post office, Sportspark, cafes, multi-faith centre, shops, bank and a medical centre. It also has a lake nearby and the campus is very beautiful. We have various events such as Eid ball, Diwali ball, Holi, Dashara festival throughout the year as well. Outside the university, the city is very pleasant and offers various festivals and events. Norfolk is one of the beautiful counties in the UK and one can also visit a number of historical and beautiful places not far away from the campus.
As a whole, life in UEA is very exciting and fulfilling
