Lorena, Ambassador for Colombia

Hi! My name is Alexandra and I come from Bolivia. I am a BA Drama student with an interest in acting, scriptwriting, filmmaking, directing and designing.

Naturally, I was looking for a course and university that would give me the opportunity to develop myself in all of those areas. That’s how I
came across UEA which not only offered me a variety of modules that covered my interests but was also ranked 1st for graduate prospects in Drama, Dance and Cinematics. As someone who enjoys trying new sports and acquiring new skills, I was very interested in the clubs and societies in offer. I always wanted to try fencing and archery, so I went to the taster sessions (every club and society offers them so you can try them out and see if the sport or activity is for you) and found them exciting. I joined both clubs afterwards. Another great thing about clubs and societies is that you don’t have to be experienced to join them as they offer beginner courses and workshops, respectively. And of course, you will meet great people and make many friends who share the same interests too.

If you’re looking to relax then you can go for a walk around campus, check out the lake and the local wildlife. Earlham Park is right there too and you might even run into Sylvester, the campus cat, who enjoys meeting students. You can also pop in the SIZ annex to play games during lunch or
join the art and clay clubs to have some fun (being an experienced artist is not required either). You may find yourself feeling hungry after your lectures and seminars, so it is always great to stop by one of the many cafes on campus to have breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack.

The city is a fun part to visit too. There are plenty of stores to explore and shop in, restaurants and cafes, theatres, the market in the city center, museums and historic buildings (there’s the Sainsbury Centre on campus too for the art enthusiasts), bookstores and many more options. Another great thing is that you can reach the coast by bus and if you are looking to visit London, you don’t have to travel all the way to the bus station since the National Express has pick-up points on campus. There are so many things to do in Norwich, so you will never get bored.
