We welcome applications from students with a range of qualifications, including the Certificate d’Ensignement Secondaire Superieur (CESS) and European Baccalaureate (EB).

English language requirementsIf English is not your first language you may be required to provide evidence of proficiency in English language, for example with these test scores.
- IELTS: 6.0 overall with minimum of 5.5 in each component
- International Baccalaureate English: English A at HL4 or SL4. English B at HL4 or SL5

Typically, we ask for at least a 2.1 or Master’s (and 6.5 or 7.0 IELTS).
It is normally expected that students wishing to undertake postgraduate research in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities or Social Sciences will hold a relevant Master’s degree (and 7.0 IELTS, where evidence of English language is required).
Applicants to the Faculty of Science or Medicine and Health Sciences can either have a Master’s degree or a strong Bachelor’s degree, equivalent to UK 2.1 or above (and 6.5 IELTS).
