CHIPPS (The Care Homes Independent Pharmacist Prescribing Study) is a five-year National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) research programme into medicines management in care homes which has been carried out in four sites: Norfolk, Yorkshire, Grampian and Northern Ireland. The ultimate aim of the programme was to determine the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of pharmacist independent prescribing in care homes.
The programme started in May 2015 and consisted of six work packages, over the following five years.
