UEA’s global outlook has been supported through three successful bids for UK Government Turing Funding. We are proud to have secured funding in each year of this project since the first pilot year and our bid outcome has increased year-on-year, testament to the range of international mobility opportunities we’re able to provide for our students at UEA.
With Turing funding, UEA aims to increase the number of students taking an international experience, particularly widening access to those from under-represented groups, as well as enhancing UEA’s internationalisation objectives. We engage with dozens of global partners each year, who host our students for work and study placements.
UEA is currently in the process of submitting a Turing funding bid to the Department for Education for the 2024-25 academic year.
Over the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 academic years, Turing has supported over 1000 UEA student mobilities across the world. From studying at a university abroad for a year, to faculty field trips, medical electives, postgraduate research and graduate internships, all kinds of international opportunities have been made available to our students. These enriching experiences help our students to become more globally-minded, independent, academically engaged and employable. Our years engaged in the programme seeks to provide valuable short term, semester and year-long opportunities to widen access to international experiences abroad.
