The Newton Fund develops science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and welfare of collaborating countries.
There are currently 16 active partner countries associated with the Newton Fund, which are all on the list for UK government Official Development Assistance (ODA). Chile has recently graduated and is no longer eligible for ODA funding.
Each Newton Fund project includes a programme of research and innovation and a programme of capacity building. We have selected two UEA Newton Fund case studies to show what can be achieved when academics, Non-Governmental Organisations, local communities, companies and policymakers worldwide come together to work towards the SDGs.
